Reconstruction of N777 in Wellen

BESIX Infra is undertaking the complete redevelopment of a section of the N777 (Zonneveldweg – Vloeiherkstraat) more than 2 kilometres in length. A brand-new sewage network is also being laid and a retention basin created with a buffer capacity of 6000 cubic metres. The redesign of the area around the school and the construction of a new roundabout and attractive cycle paths are also planned as part of this project.

Roundabout

At the end of 2017 BESIX Infra constructed a brand-new, large roundabout with a clear layout and exits to Bloemenstraat, Vloeiherkstraat and Bosstraat.

Additional initiatives

Due to the poor subsoil, suitable foundations were needed for the sewers. Greater stability was achieved thanks to a combination of fibre-reinforced concrete and wooden piles. For the roadway, stabilised ground was used as a base across the full width of the roadbed.

Completed well ahead of schedule

BESIX Infra is renowned for completing projects promptly and for its precise and accurate work. It has more than lived up to its excellent reputation once again on this project. The redevelopment, which had originally been scheduled for completion by the end of 2019, will be finished before the summer of this year.
